Martin Kerrigan my(ggg grandfather) is where my tree starts but would like information on Thomas Kerrigan and his time he lived in Ireland.
I know he was a potato farmer but can't locate after coming to USA on census.
Hello Stacey- Your information is very interesting to me. we have many thomas' but i don't have information that goes back as far as your does. Tell me, you say the migrated in 1846 - do you know exactly where in ireland they came from and where they lived in new york

I'm connected to the Kerrigan name through my mother in law. Her maiden name was Kerrigan. :)

I do know why the name changes except here in Scotland in the past if you had an Irish name or were Irish it was hard to get employment.

My family tree:

Michael Kerrigan married Ellen Kilmartin/Gilmartin. I know of five children:
All of which came to the US and settled in Chicago.
Katherine Kerrigan b. 1874
Ella Kerrigan b.1878 married Thomas O'Malley in Chicago
John Kerrigan b. 1885
Anne (Sister Finnan)Kerrigan b. 1887 in County Leitrim
Mary Kerrigan b. Dec 24 1870 County Silgo, married John Daniel Maskill August 29, 1895 in Chicago. The lives in Oak Park, Illinois They had seven childen: Margaret (my grandmother), Howard, Loretta, Kathleen, Mary Ellen (Helen) and the twins James and Joseph.

My grandmother was Margaret Kerrigan from Drimarone died 55 years ago. Married Dan Kelly Drimnaherk

Dan Kelly moved to New York
Frank Kellly moved to Media PA
Edward Kelly my father from Drimnaherk
John Kelly died at age 18
Molly Kelly McKelvey had at least 4 children
Josephine Kelly Kennedy lost several children during TB epidemic
Only daughter Mary Kennedy moved to Phila and married Bill Grundy

Grandmother had a sister Catherine who never married
Brother Tom Married and had children - several grandchildren live in the Drimarone area

My names is andrew leighton kerrigan and i am trying to look up my family tree but the only information i have is
my grandad is called charles kerrigan born 25/02/1920, he had 1 brother Harry and a sister anna her date of birth 12-12-1912 my great grandad was called charles kerrigan as well as the three children above he also had another child which we think died very young ,his wife was called mary anne his parents were from the county of donegal i know this is not much information but could u if posible u send any information as to were would be the best place for me to gain any other in formation or were to look
